Partners

A-fit involves academic partners from four European countries including Denmark, Italy, Spain and Sweden. Below is a brief presentation of academic entities, and the industrial partner YoYo Technology AB involved, and links to work packages describing each partners research project or responsibility in the A-fit program.

Karolinska institutet
The coordinator Karolinska Institutet is one of the world´s leading medical universities. Its mission is to contribute to the improvement of human health through research and education. Karolinska Institutet accounts for over 40 per cent of the medical academic research conducted in Sweden and offers the country´s broadest range of education in medicine and health sciences. Since 1901 the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet has selected the Nobel laureates in Physiology or Medicine. Östersund Rehabcentrum Remonthagen
Östersund Rehabcenter is a part of Östersund Hospital, which is the only hospital in Jämtland County, Sweden, with 126.000 inhabitants. Östersund Rehabcenter embraces rehabilitation facilities for the adults of the county. The spectre of diagnoses comprises injuries and diseases of the central nervous system and cases needing rehabilitation after operations of bones and joints. Östersund Rehabcenter provides clinical teaching and training for students of University of Umeå and Mid-Sweden University at Östersund. Several research projects are conducted at the center. Karolinska University Hostpital
The Karolinska University Hospital (Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset) is one of Scandinavia’s premier health care and science facilities. The hospital has two major sites in the municipalities of Huddinge and Solna, south and north of Stockholm, respectively. The Karolinska University Hospital employs about 15,000 individuals, and is in possession of 1,700 patient beds. This teaching hospital is academically affiliated with the world renowned Karolinska Institute and leads in medical research breakthroughs in Sweden. The University of Verona is a vital center of research and culture, which harmonically interacts with the community of Verona and the net of Venetian Universities.
